Mutual funds sold stocks worth a massive net Rs 5266.40 crore on Friday, 17 February 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 830.70 crore on 16 February 2017. The net outflow of Rs 5266.40 crore on 17 February 2017, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2313.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 7580.30 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 167.48 points or 0.59% to settle at 28,468.75, its highest closing level since 23 September 2016.

Mutual funds have sold shares worth a net Rs 2990 crore in February 2017 (till 17 February 2017). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 5233.90 crore in January 2017.
