| The German trade surplus narrowed to €19.8 billion in February, down from €20.3 billion in January, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis said on Thursday.
According to the report, exports totaled €135.2 billion, representing a 3.6% increase from the previous month and a 2.9% rise from the same month last year. Imports gained 4.7% on a monthly basis, to €115.4 billion, while compared with the same month a year earlier, imports improved by 1.5%.
In February, Germany's calendar and seasonally adjusted exports to EU member states reached €75.9 billion, while imports from these countries were €59.3 billion. Meanwhile, exports to non-EU countries amounted to €59.4 billion, and imports from these countries totaled €56.2 billion. |
