COMEX copper slumped by almost 1.5% on Thursday morning in Asia to $5.56 per pound. US stock futures tumbled after Trump speech warned in a national address that Washington would “hit" Iran “extremely hard” within two to three weeks, even suggesting the country could be pushed into the “Stone Ages.” Late yesterday, the Nasdaq jumped 250.32 points or 1.2 percent to 21,840.95, the S&P 500 climbed 46.80 points or 0.7 percent to 6,575.32 and the Dow rose 224.23 points or 0.5 percent to 46,565.74. Dollar also regained momentum following the speech which in turn is adding pressure pn the red metal. The dollar index rose to 99.8 on Thursday, snapping a two-day decline, after President Donald Trump offered no clarity on when the Iran war might end, reinforcing uncertainty in global markets.
