Axis Max Life Insurance Company Limited, formerly known as Max Life Insurance Company Limited, has appointed Sumit Madan as the new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) effective October 1, 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
Madan, currently Senior Director & Chief Distribution Officer (CDO), will succeed Prashant Tripathy, who took early retirement from his position as Managing Director & CEO with effect from September 30, 2025.
Madan has over 25 years of experience in establishing and scaling businesses with various leadership roles held at premier financial institutions such as Citibank, AU Small Finance Bank and IDFC FIRST Bank, managing portfolios, and IPOs, among other operations.
Rajiv Anand, Chairman, Axis Max Life Insurance showed appreciation for the newly appointed MD and CEO, appreciating Madan’s hard work for the company and expressing faith in industry insight, distribution strategies, and leadership in product development.
